It turns out that not everything is flowers in the development of our kitten. As they grow, it is very common for cats to start urinating all over the house and of course, this makes their owners desperate!

This behavior is known as spraying when the cat or cat is spraying urine for territorial demarcation. Although it is completely normal for cats to mark territory with urine outside, indoors, it is not!

This behavior is almost always related to the emotional stress of the pussy, which does this to attract the attention of its owners, urinating many times, in their beds, covers, carpets, curtains, and sofas.

Now, considering that there is no pathological cause, let’s move on to behavioral issues:

• Male and female cats that have not yet been neutered, tend to mark the territory with urine. So schedule your kitten’s surgery. This can end your problem once and for all!
• It is not healthy for many cats to share the same litter box. The ideal is to have 1 litter box above the number of cats. So, if you have a cat, you need two boxes; two cats, three boxes.
• The size of the box is very important. If it is too small for your cat’s size, it will start to feel uncomfortable in it and look for other places to urinate and defecate. Remember that kittens grow and the litter box must keep up with their development. The ideal is that it fits completely inside the box, being able to rotate easily inside it.
• Is the box open or closed? Shallow or deep? – the cat may have a preference for one type or another
• The box must be cleaned every day – don’t negotiate it !!!
• Avoid using perfumed cleaning products in the hygiene of the boxes.
• Where is the sanitary box? They may not like or be afraid of the location (washing machine next to it, for example) or the path to the box can be threatening (passing by someone or an animal).
• Is the sanitary granulate always the same? Cats are extremely tactile and may hate to step on certain surfaces. Introduce other types of granules to your cat’s routine to see how it matches.
• Cats do not like to do their needs in the presence of other people or animals. Privacy is also important to them. Perhaps the solution to your problem is to move the litter box to a more discreet place.

Emotional lack

As stated earlier, cats develop spraying behavior because of stress. In addition to the factors that were listed above, one of the things that most stress a kitten is the absence or lack of attention on the part of the owner.
